terms & conditions

1. Ownership & Copyright

  • All digital RAW files, video footage, and project files remain the property of the creator (myself) at all times.

  • The Copyright, Designs and Patents Act assigns the copyright of all images and video content to the photographer/videographer.

  • Final edited photos and videos are delivered to the client for personal or agreed-upon commercial use, but copyright is not transferred unless otherwise agreed in writing.

2. Usage & Licensing

  • Clients are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the final images or videos for personal or pre-agreed business use only.

  • Any use of images or video for advertising, resale, or distribution beyond the original agreement must be discussed and licensed separately.

  • The client agrees not to alter, sell, or pass off any images or video as their own, or permit others to do so, without prior written consent.

3. Portfolio Use

  • The photographer/videographer retains the right to use any material created during the shoot to promote their business (including but not limited to website, social media, printed brochures, and award entries), unless otherwise agreed upon in writing prior to the shoot.

4. Delivery

  • Edited digital images and/or videos will be delivered via a secure online portal unless otherwise arranged.

  • Turnaround time for delivery will be communicated in advance, typically within 14 working days of the shoot, unless otherwise stated or in special cases that are disclosed to the client. (Video projects may take longer and timelines will be discussed on a case by case basis)

5. Revisions (Video/Editing Work)

  • One round of reasonable revisions is included in all video and video editing packages unless otherwise specified.

  • Additional edits beyond this may be charged at an hourly rate or agreed fee.

6. Payment Terms

  • A non-refundable deposit may be required to secure the booking, with the remainder due before final delivery of the project.

  • Payment methods and due dates will be outlined in the invoice. Late payments may incur fees.

7. Cancellations & Rescheduling

  • If a shoot is cancelled by the client within 48 hours, a cancellation fee of up to 50% may be charged depending on the time and expenses already committed.

  • Rescheduling due to illness, weather, or unforeseen events will be handled flexibly where possible. Any costs already incurred (e.g., travel, bookings) may still be billable.

8. Liability

  • While every reasonable care is taken during shooting and editing, the photographer/videographer is not liable for any loss or damage incurred during the creation or delivery of the work.

  • In the unlikely event of a complete photographic failure, liability shall be limited to a full refund of any payments received.

9. Client Responsibility

  • The client agrees to ensure that all necessary permissions (e.g. location, event access, model releases) are secured ahead of time.

  • If key details or materials are delayed or withheld by the client (e.g. logos, branding, brief), delivery timelines may be extended.
